Joanne Law brings a wealth of experience in mediation, the delivery of mediation services and of both the Mediation and Vocational training (VET) industry to the MSB and its committees.

As the director of Mediation Institute, since 2013, she has experience in all facets of training Accredited Mediation professionals and Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners across Australia with a focus on innovation.

Joanne is an advocate for increasing the diversity of mediators to improve access to and improvement of non-adversarial dispute resolution approaches for all members of our community.

This passion for innovation, access and equity has resulted in Joanne co-founding the social enterprise not-for-profit, Interact Support Inc which provides services designed to expand the reach of mediation to those who would not otherwise access mediation services. The secondary goal is to provide opportunities for mediators to gain experience through the support of a co-mediation model.

With an upbringing in central western NSW, Joanne also brings to her role an acute awareness of the challenges rural and regional people and professionals face when trying to access quality education and professional services.

Joanne is active in both the Australian and International mediation community. She has several Australian and International partnerships with training organisations and is the Australasian Coordinator of International Mediation Awareness Week and was an ambassador for Mediators Beyond Boarders Oceania at the Nairobi Peace Congress in 2023.
